Sedation Dentistry in Calgary, AB

The idea of sedation dentistry can be a scary topic for some people. But for others, it’s the ideal solution to years of neglect or living with low self-esteem because they’re not happy with their smile.

If the thought of having your teeth cleaned makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up, then sedation dentistry is the solution you’ve been looking for. Your comfort is our priority!

When Is It Used?

Sedation dentistry in SW Calgary is commonly used to ease anxiety in patients who have a fear of dental checkups or other dental procedures.

Because it will help you remain calm during your procedure, sedation dentistry is very common. Not only does it help you for the initial appointment, but it can also help you become less anxious over time for future appointments.

Another benefit to sedation dentistry? It reduces treatment time!

How Do I Know If It’s Safe For Me?

Every dentist is different regarding their ability to perform various levels of sedation, so it’s important to communicate your concerns and health issues beforehand.

Comfort Care in Calgary, AB uses state-of-the-art technologies to make sure your experience is as comfortable and anxiety-free as possible.

There are four types of sedation that can be used in dentistry. These include inhaled minimal sedation, oral sedation, IV moderate sedation, and general anesthesia.

You’ll need to check with your dentist ahead of your appointment to discuss what type of sedation will be used so you can determine whether or not you’ll be able to drive home after your procedure.

Other Reasons to Consider Sedation Dentistry

Apart from anxiety, there are a few other reasons that sedation dentistry might be a good option. These include having a low pain threshold, having very sensitive teeth, inability to sit still in a dental chair, and the need to have a large amount of dental work done in one sitting.
